Mathematics Facilitator (Full-time)

This contract post is currently available at SciMathUS, a one-year programme offered by the University to learners from educationally disadvantaged circumstances. SciMathUS focuses on learners with the necessary potential, but who were insufficiently prepared by the schooling system for higher education in the natural sciences, applied natural sciences or economic and management sciences.

Duties:
· Teaching Mathematics in SciMathUS;
· research in the field of bridging between school and university.

Requirements:
· BSc with Mathematics as a major;
· a relevant teaching qualification;
· at least three years’ experience in teaching of Mathematics to Grade 12 learners;
· sound communicative skills in both Afrikaans and English.

Recommendations:
· A postgraduate qualification in Mathematics or Mathematics Education;
· communicative ability in Xhosa.
