This position handles the generalist function of Human Resources for 1 factory site. We are looking for a dynamic self-motivated individual who can work independently. Main functions would be: To co-ordinate and perform all HR related administrative functions; Handle the administration of retirement fund disability claims and death benefits; Assist with the IR relations issues on site; Training and development as well as the implementation of various workplace improvement initiatives. To handle recruitment of staff at CU level and below.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience: A Diploma/ degree in HR or related 3 year degree or diploma. A minimum of 3 to 5 years related HR experience, preferably in the FMCG / Manufacturing / Food environment
Knowledge of employee benefits administration
Communication skills in both English and Afrikaans (verbal & written). South African citizen.
Skills and Knowledge: Numerical ability with attention to detail. Ability to write competency based interview guides and conduct a professional interview. Labour law understanding. Exposure to the CCMA and an understanding of the process and procedures of conciliation and arbitration.
Duties: Handle the industrial relations for the sites including HR support with discipline and disciplinary cases and HR support at CCMA. Handle recruitment including the creation of staff request forms, the compilation of the advert, the receiving and short listing of applications, compilation of the interview guide together with Line Management, conducting the interview, making the offer and taking on the new employee. Execution and co-ordination of administrative tasks pertaining to retirement funds, medical aid, employee records and other benefits. Compile management statistics and reports. Monitoring of factory and departmental daily team meetings and completion of assessment checklist. Conducting training needs analysis and the sourcing of appropriate training material/ providers.
