Job Description

Our client, a leading and successful Agricultural Company, has a vacancy for a HR Officer within the Robertson / Ashton area.  The ideal candidate is adaptable and personable with exceptional organizational skills. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment & selection 

• Assisting with the recruitment process 

• Managing relationships with recruitment companies 

• Managing onboarding and staff support 

• Coordinate and conduct induction/orientation of new staff 

• Providing employment contracts 

• Updating employment contracts on a regular basis according to changes in law and/or good practice 

HR administration 

• Maintain staff records and database (online and hard copies) 

• Maintain job descriptions 

• Administration of staff attendance including monitoring of all types of leave

• Administration of workmen’s compensation claims according to the WCA

• Leave admin/approvals for head office and top management 

• Chairperson at disciplinary hearings 

• Labour relations 

• Termination of staff 

• Exit interviews 

Training & development 

• Organising training according to staff and company needs 

• Development and maintenance of SETA learnership contracts 

• Skills development facilitation

REQUIREMENTS:

• HR Qualification / Degree 

• 5-year relevant HR experience 

• Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 

• Knowledge and experience in SA labour legislation

• Skills development facilitation experience  

• WCA

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 

• Good administration skills 

• Pro-active, forward thinker who enjoys working independently as well as in a team 

• Good time management and organised work ethic 

• Approachable, good listener and patient 

• A good judge of character 

• Ability to represent the Human Resource function as part of the larger Group vision 

• This position will involve, as required, travel within South Africa 

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
