Job Description

A renowned award winning Estate in the hospitality industry, Franschhoek, is seeking an Events and Marketing Planner (Hospitality Focussed), on full time basis who can maintain a high standard of etiquette, professionalism, be responsible, committed to excellence and be able to work under pressure.

It is expected that a hands-on approach be applied at all times regarding tasks to be done, ensuring that all events and marketing are up to a high standard and ensuring excellent guest experiences.

The successful candidate must be able to give attention to detail, guest focused but also be a team player. The candidate must be available to work long hours/Public Holidays/Weekends.

Key functions
Manage events from proposal right up to delivery*Set, communicate and maintain project timelines and priorities*Manage venue hire* Liaise with external suppliers including venues, caterers, entertainers*Assisting designer in developing promotional materials*Maintaining/updating website*Deliver events on time, within budget, that meet (and hopefully exceed) sales and expectations.*Ensure excellent service and quality delivery*On-the-day management of events*Proactively problem solving and obtaining direction and support from team and management to implement changes when required.*Provide feedback and reports post events with recommended improvements*With input from the various teams each year develop, maintain and deliver on an annual plan for events that ensures a balance, a range of sizes and options throughout the year*Responsible for the delivery and evolution of the marketing pan and work with the Sales and Hospitality team to implement further developments when necessary.*Promote the brand, policies and core values*Advertising opportunities to contribute to and implement.*Contribute and implement advertising on our website and social media platform.*Actively identify marketing and promotion opportunities.*Manage all aspects of production, receipt and distribution of marketing material.*Coordinate market research to identify interest and opportunities to leverage offers and products.*Deliver all marketing activity within the agreed budget and within agreed sustainability criteria.*Work with the PR Company to achieve frequent, timely and positive media coverage.*Evaluate and communicate customer research, market conditions and competitor data to implement marketing plan adjustments as needed.*Develop network of appropriate contacts within the media.*Contribute in development and implementation of media press kits and maintain and make updates as required.*Develop / design marketing material according to the brand identity

Skills required  
•    Educated to degree level or with equivalent professional experience • Minimum of two years’ experience in either events co-ordination or marketing • Experience of developing and managing external partnerships in the delivery of projects • Demonstrable experience of running events from conception to competition • Appreciation of the nature of accountability, ethics, targets and outcomes • Marketing or communications background with relevant qualifications •writing skills • Familiarity with using membership databases • Experience of developing and planning marketing activities and identifying new areas of growth / income / exposure. • Understanding of business skills in relation to profits, expenses and sales.• Excellent communication skills both oral and written • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload • Self-led with an ability to work alone or as part of a team • Ability to find imaginative and practical solutions and make well-considered suggestion and decisions • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, and ability to communicate with diverse audiences • Flexible approach and manage multiple projects at the same time • Well-developed planning and delivery skills • Ability to engage and build effective relationships with stakeholders and teams • Demonstrable experience of initiative, self-sufficiency and motivation • Good all round office and IT skills as well as social media platforms • Understanding of the requirements of the organisation and use creative processes and ideas to deliver effective marketing programmes. • Familiar with designing and developing of marketing material programmes.
